The positive list of sights that are worth you while in spite of the many tourists
Here is the list of sights that are full of tourists, but still worth your while in spite of the many people:
- Caminito del Rey
The spectacular footpath on the rock wall has become a world sight with 6-800 persons passing every day (except Mondays). It is a bit crowded at first, but the path is long and the people spread out quickly, so that you can walk on your own without being disturbed much by the other people. Tickets must be booked beforehand at Caminitodelrey.info
- La Alhambra & Granada
The major sight in Spain and no. 33 on the list of World sights. 6600 tickets are sold per day and there are lots of Chineese making selfies everywhere. The Moorish architecture is, however, so spectacular that it is worth your while and shouldn’t be missed – in spite of having to mingle through all the tourists there. Tickets must be booked beforehand at the official ticket site here.
- La Mezquita & Cordoba
The amazing and quite spectacular Mezquita in Cordoba is definitely worth a visit. So is the Jewish neighborhood surrounding it. There are more and more tourists coming to Cordoba, but it is still not overcrowded and no tickets need to be booked beforehand.
The historical city center of Seville is crowded with tourists. Especially the cathedral, with min. 30-45 min. queue to get in, should be avoided. But there are many less crowded sights to visit in Seville, especially the Alcazabar palace and it’s gardens, but also the Plaza de España is a nice place to visit.
- El Torcal Natural Park by Antequera
El Torcal has become well-known and especially on weekends it is quite crowded. Also August is a bad choice for going there. But pick a week day out of season – then it is quiet. And when walking the routes between the rocks you will feel like being alone in the middle of the wild nature.
